If you are using Firebug add-on, which is highly popular amongst Web developers and HTML coders, odds are that Yahoo! Mail will crash Firefox. Firebug is known to produce stability issues when accessing Yahoo! Mail. Try disabling Firebug and see what happens. If Yahoo! Mail works stable, either uninstall Firebug, or update to the latest version.
Another known cause of Yahoo! Mail issues in Firefox is the Yahoo! Application State plug-in for Firefox. You'll need to disable this plugin: exit Firefox > go to
